Zella Allison

Zella Louise completed her mission in life on March 14, 2010 at Wild Rose Hospital. She was born July 14, 1913 to the late Ed and Lena Gackowski. Zella attended the old fashioned one room schools of education and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1925 and was employed by a local restaurant.
Zella and Millard (Windy) Allison were married in Rockford, Il with Ralph and Dora Adams as their attendants and life long associates. Millard and Zella operated a very successful dairy farming operation in Adams County. They worked hard thru the depression with tough times as well as many accomplishments as the farming practices changed into motorized equipment.
Millard preceded her in death on July 18, 1975. Also an infant son Dennis Allen passed away in 1955. Zella remained on the farm where she enjoyed her summer gardening, cooking, baking and crocheting which she generously shared with friends and family. She always had a friendly dog who was a great joy to her.
In 2004 Zella moved from the farm to Harmony House in Wisconsin Rapids due to failing health. After several years Zella moved to Silver Lake Manor where she resided until her passing.
Survivors include Daughters, Sharon Laporte - Plainfield , Julie (Lawrence "Woodie") Wittrock-Wisconsin Rapids. Grandsons, Andre (Wanda Morris) Laporte-East Moline, IL and Lamar & Lorna Laporte -Plainfield. Great Grandsons, Tristan & Payton Laporte Plainfield WI
Additional preceding deaths of her parents, sister and their husbands were Vida and Ervin Huber and Norma and George Hilgendorf. Also Son-in-law, Vernon Laporte
Visitation and remembrances for Zella Allison will be on the 1st day of Spring March 20 at 11:00-1:00 pm at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Memorial and Celebration of life Services will be at 1:00 PM presented by Rev. Gary Hilgendorf of Hayward WI . Burial will follow in the Plainfield Cemetery.
