William E. Gaston, age 78, of Wautoma passed away Sunday evening, October 17, 2010 at Wild Rose Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1932 in Glasgow, Scotland the son of Joseph and
Jean Gaston. He married Louise Willmas on July 31, 1970 at Manitowoc.
William played soccer in the Scottish Cup with his team, the Rangers and were the league champions in 1958-1959. William served with Her Majesty's British Army in the United Kingdom as a paratrooper. After his service for his country he moved to the United States and received his citizenship on May 1, 1991. William was employed as a Tool & Die Engineer at Johnson Controls for 20 years and also owned and operated Gaston's Sweet Shop in Wautoma for a number of years. William enjoyed many camping trips and building homes with his wife. He enjoyed fishing with his sons as well as golfing. William was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma and the Waushara Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Gaston, Wautoma; children, Richard LaValliere, Brooklyn, NY., Anthony (Pam) LaValliere, Madison, Cynthia LaValliere, Milwaukee, Gerard LaValliere, Wautoma, and Douglas (Judy) LaValliere, Austin, TX.; grandchildren, Mindy (Wade) Iverson, San Diego, CA., Melanie LaValliere, Wautoma,, and Larry Gulbrandson, Milwaukee; great grandchildren, Ariana, Alexandra, Alyssa, and William Iverson, all of San Diego, CA, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Gaston.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 11:00am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma with Father Anthony Klink officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00am until the time of services at the Church.
