Wiley B. Thompson, age 88, of Coloma, died peacefully Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his home. He was born September 14, 1926 in Bluefield, West Virginia, the son of Wiley and Catherine Thompson. He married the former Helen E. Uebel on December 1, 1945. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2001. Wiley served his country in the U.S. Navy from January 3, 1951 until April 13, 1952. He was employed as a machinist at the former George J. Meyers Co. of Cudahy and also worked at Peters Dodge of Milwaukee. He and his late wife moved from New Berlin to rural Coloma in 1975. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, along with wood crafting and embroidery. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma. He is survived by two daughters, Dianna (Thomas) Anderson, Waukesha, Barbara Wright (Daryl Mackey), Manitowoc; one son, Daryle (Cheryl) Thompson, Horicon. He is further survived by nine grandchildren; 11 great grand- children, and nine great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends, especially Marliss Heinrich of Hazelhurst, WI, and Darryl Ast and Dale Ast, both of Coloma. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Wiley B. Thompson Jr.; son-in-law, Dwight Wright; and by two great grandchildren, Skyla Rugg and Michael Hammerich. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma with Rev. Robert Hanson officiating. Military honors will follow at the Church. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Milwaukee. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
