Wayne J. Waedekin, age 91, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec 4th, 2022 at Rosemore Village in Wild Rose.
Wayne was born May 20, 1931 in Milwaukee to Rose and Leroy Waedekin. He worked at Milller Brewing Company for 37 years. After which, he and his wife, Judy, moved to Wautoma, where Wayne then worked at Copps Foods for 14 years. After retiring, Wayne and Judy embarked on a new business adventure making and selling quilts and handmade fabric crafts.
Later in life, Wayne became very involved in the Alzheimer's Association, giving encouraging talks and trying to help find a cure for the disease which eventually took Judy’s life.
He is survived by his children Lee (Sue Ellen) Waedekin, Michael (Vicki) Waedekin, Sandy (Harry) DiMauro, Nancy (Jeff) Hertlein, Cheryl LaValle, Susan (Walter) Kangas, Carolyn Bethge, Chris (Todd) Schloesser and son-in-law Ken Stigler.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob (Marsha) Waedekin, Justin (Julie) Stigler, Erica (Ben) Knurr, Kyle (Emily) Stigler, Lisa (Doug) Ellis, Tyler Flynn, Julie LaValle, Christopher LaValle, Lamar Baucum, Nicholas Bethge, Olivia Bethge, Patricia (Glenn) Mendoza, David (Rose) Lattimer and Anthony Pape.
He was also survived by 14 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his son Jeffrey Waedekin, and his daughter Kathy Stigler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. William Evans officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, December 16th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial services will held on Saturday, December 17th in the Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to thank Kathy Bennot for being the definition of a "Good Neighbor" and Janet Recore, a very special friend, who for years was Dads companion and close friend sharing his walk through life on the way to eternal peace.
