Wayne Donald Mihor, age 88, was called to heaven on Saturday afternoon while surrounded by family. Wayne was born to Julia and Frank Mihor on April 15, 1936 in Milwaukee. Wayne married the love of his life, Luan, on June 11, 1957.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Wayne approached life with a sense of adventure, humor, and compassion. His favorite way to start the day was fishing on Silver Lake, followed by an afternoon of playing sheepshead. Wayne will be remembered for his many stories, teaching his sons, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren how to swim, and drawing Donald Duck on every birthday card. Wayne spent every summer at his favorite place on Silver Lake and in his later years retired on the lake, which is where he spent his final days.
Wayne is survived by his sisters: Elaine (Jim) Vogler and Carol (Larry) Babcock; sons: Jeffrey and Curtis Mihor; granddaughters: Kelly Wyszkowski, Melissa Flynn, Jackie Nies, and Sara Mihor; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Wayne’s favorite charity: St. Jude’s Hospital.
“May the love and memories he shared with us be a guiding light in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Wayne, wrapped in the arms of eternal love and grace. Though you are no longer by our side, your spirit will continue to watch over us, and your wisdom will live on in all who knew you. Until we meet again, may you find peace and comfort in the presence of God.”
