Walter Harry Busse

Walter Harry Busse, 94, surrounded by his children, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at New Perspective, West Bend, WI.  Walter was born on March 26, 1929 to Harry and Pauline Buczkowski in Chicago, IL, where he spent his youth and young adulthood. Walter met the love of his life, Mary Ann, in Chicago and they married on October 11, 1958.  They had four children and decided a better life awaited in the country and moved their family to rural Iola Wisconsin in 1971. They had a beautiful life raising their children on the farm and enjoying all things country! Walter was a mechanic who could fix anything, especially cars! He, along with partner Ron Fout and brother Jack, raced their 1941 Willys around the country and earned many trophies. Walter loved gardening, taking his wife Mary Ann out to eat and his Chicago Cubs and Bears.

Walter is survived by his four children, Mary Clare Busse (Tom), Campbellsport, Mark J. Busse (Carol), Amherst Junction, Mary Beth Busse (Robert), Brandon, and Mary Ann Busse, Asheville, NC; six grandchildren, Kevin Thorn (Jill), Becky Thorn, Ben Livingood (Amy), Tory Livingood, (Dietrich), Courtney Livingood, and Kristy Busse (Brian); two great grandchildren, Eden and Maya. He is further survived by brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends.

Walter is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann, his grandson Matthew Busse and brothers and sisters.  

Walter was a devoted, hard working family man who lived his life with integrity and honesty.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his children.
