Viola Lutz

March 15, 1912 — December 14, 2010

Viola Dorothy Lydia Lutz, age 98, of Wautoma passed away Tuesday morning, December 14, 2010 at Silver Lake Haven in Wautoma.

Viola Lutz was born on March 15, 1912 in Wood County, the youngest of 9 children, the daughter of Frederick and Minnie Kraase. She graduated from Marshfield High School and lived most of her life in Milwaukee. Mrs. Lutz was united in marriage to Raymond Lutz on November 19, 1934 in Milwaukee. They had two sons, Harold and Robert.

Viola and husband Ray, spent summers at their cottage on Porters Lake and retired there in 1971. Viola was a gifted seamstress and quilter. She assisted the Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church Women's Quilter Group in making quilts and baby sweaters every year for Lutheran World Relief. She enjoyed observing wildlife, especially birds. Viola was quite a bowler in her younger years, sang faithfully in the church choir, and was a wonderful cook of German cuisine. She and her husband were dedicated members of Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons, Harold (Donna) Lutz, Germantown, Robert (Jean) Lutz, Stone Lake; six grandchildren, William (Sue) Lutz, North Prairie, Linda (Mike Rucki) Lutz, Pewaukee, James (Lisa) Lutz, Pewaukee, David Lutz, Hilliard, OH., Thomas (Michelle) Lutz, Franklin, WI., Julie Lutz, Phoenix, AZ.; four great grandchildren, Amanda, Kinsey Lutz, North Prairie, Donovan and Nina Lutz, Pewaukee; further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Ernest, Alfred, Walter, Clarence, Arthur and Louis, two sisters, Ella and Lillie.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church with the Rev. Todd Murken officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
