Tom “Chet” Struzynski, age 75, of Wautoma, passed away Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.
He was born August 15, 1943 in Berlin the son of Chester J. and Margaret B. (Strebelinski) Struzynski. He married Barbara J. Bahrke on April 24, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma.
Tom was employed in Shipping and Receiving at Berlin Chapman/Senior Engineering and retired after 33 years of service. He had also worked at Bill Johnson’s Pickle Station and Migrant Camp in Wautoma and Spees Farms of Hancock. Following retirement, Tom was employed at Waushara Industries and was a Special Deputy for the Waushara County Sheriff’s Department. He worked security at Flannigan’s Pearl Lake Resort in Redgranite and Evergreen Campground in Wild Rose.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom also enjoyed cowboy shooting at the Waupaca and Ripon Rod & Gun Clubs. Tom was a member of Waushara County Archers and S.A.S.S.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Struzynski; two sons, Paul (Jennifer) Struzynski and Daniel (Jodi) Struzynski; five grandchildren, Ashley, Hannah, Hailey, Bethany and Corbin; three great grandchildren, Ryland, Talon, and Jesslyn; three sisters, Bernice (Joe) Jakus, Judy (Dave) Fredrickson, Margie (Paul) Schmitz; two brothers, Bill (Inger) Mielke and Herb Mielke; mother-in-law, Dorothy Pearsall; sister-in-law, Ann (Ken) Kemen; two brothers-in-law, Jim Bahrke and Steve (Deb) Bahrke. He is further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Michael; his parents; his two fathers-in-law, Ervin Bahrke and Charles Pearsall; sister-in-law, Sue Mielke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David F. Greskowiak officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Tom’s memory.
The family wishes to acknowledge sincere appreciation to the medical teams at ThedaCare: Neenah, Wild Rose and Plainfield. Also to Chaplains Ted and KC of ThedaCare Neenah, Waushara County Sheriff’s Dept., Waushara County EMS and Wautoma Fire Dept.
