Thomas Roy Patten, age 73, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016 in his wife's arms at the home he proudly built in Coloma.
He was born March 15, 1943 in Oshkosh, the son of Roy and Anna (Boelke) Patten. He married Kathlene "Kathy" Huber on Oct. 22, 1972 at Bethel United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake, WI.
Tom was a 1961 graduate of Westfield High School and served in the National Guard. He managed the former North Side Pleasant Lake Resort at rural Coloma for several years. He was employed by Kerschner's Gas of Coloma and managed Bing Farms for 16 years. Later, he was a department manager at Walmart in Portage until he retired.
He loved his family and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Tom liked collecting bottles, refinishing antique furniture, fishing and hunting. He was so happy to finally become a Green Bay Packer Season Ticket holder.
Tom was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma. He was a founding member of the Pleasant Lake Association, a member and past president of Coloma Pathfinders Snowmobile Club and member and past treasurer of Coloma Fire Department.Tom was a proud member of Coloma Historical Society.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Patten, Coloma; twin sons, Christopher (Amanda) Patten, Westfield, Timothy (Lindsay) Patten, Westfield; four grandchildren, Cooper, Harper, Maverick, and Ruger; two sisters, Annabelle (Patten) Fenske, Richford, Roberta (Keith) Galbraith, Westfield; one brother, Jeffrey (Deborah) Buchholz, Wautoma. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Robert Buchholz; by two brothers-in-law, Howard Fenske and Jim Puetz; and by his in-laws, Martin and Dorsey Huber.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma with Rev. Jacob Gawlik officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
