Thomas Ely

Thomas R. Ely, age 71, of Coloma, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2014 at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.



He was born November 14, 1942 in Portage, the son of Carl and Della (Godson) Ely. He married Barbara Briese on June 9, 1962 in Coloma.



Tom was a graduate of Westfield High School and later served his country in the United States Army. He farmed for many years in the Town of Coloma. Tom enjoyed snowmobiling and was co-founder of the Coloma Pathfinders Snowmobile Club. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars. Tom was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Coloma.



He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ely, Coloma; three children, Cindy (Todd) Lewellyn, Woodbury, MN, Robert Ely, Coloma, Sara Ely (Jason Bartolaba), Coloma; 10 grandchildren, Adam Ely and Allen Ely, both of Westfield, Thomas (fiancée Megan) Lewellyn, Woodbury, MN, Nicole (Bojack) Martin, Wisconsin Rapids, Bridgette Lewellyn (Michael Peters), Minneapolis, MN, Garrison Walters, Portage, Amollia Walters, Westfield, Marqus Ely-Bartolaba, Coloma, Sadie Bartolaba, Coloma, Alyssa Bartolaba, Coloma; two great grandchildren, Tanner and Dillion; one sister, Monica Kerschner, Coloma; one brother, Glendon Ely, Friendship. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Ely on June 14, 2012; his parents; and by three sisters, Marilyn, Ruth, and Sandy.



Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Coloma. Burial will be in White Cemetery, Town of Coloma.



Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield and on Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
