Terry Lee Potter, age 77, formerly of Wautoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 29, 2024 at his home in Winneconne.

He was born July 12, 1946, in Baraboo, the son of Calvin M. and Elaine E. (Bowman) Potter. He married Tina (Vander Spoel) Potter on June 26, 1995, in Saxeville.

Terry was a graduate of Baraboo High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from February 14, 1966 until September 26, 1968 attaining the rank of SP4 (P) E-4. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Expert Rifleman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Terry was employed as a Telephone Installation Technician for many years until his retirement. Later, he worked in the warehouse at Oshkosh Correctional Institution.

An avid outdoorsman, Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, mowing the lawn and visiting family in Florida, Maryland, Nevada, and Tennessee. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Potter, Winneconne; children: Tracy Potter-Snyder, Thurmont, MD, Sara (Joseph) Jimenez, Las Vegas, NV, Emily Dorcey, Oshkosh, Brian (Elysia) Wagner, Knoxville, TN, Elizabeth Wagner (Chris Anderson) Menasha; nine grandchildren: Tyler Wagner, Thomas Snyder, Ashli Larscheid, Quinn Larscheid, Bailey Larscheid, Joe, Ruby and Delilah Jimenez and Addyson Wagner; two great grandchildren: Ava and DJ; one sister: Kathleen (Henry) Kaltz, Sussex; one brother: Darrell (Carol) Potter, DeForest; son-in-law: John Larscheid, Tampa, FL. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

 Terry is preceded in death by his parents and by two children, Heidi Larscheid and Ken Dorcey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Wautoma World War II Memorial Building, 440 W. Main St., Wautoma. Full military honors will be performed at 12 noon followed by a time of remembrance and luncheon.
