Stanley Sikorski

May 4, 1930 — November 27, 2023

Wautoma

Stanley Sikorski gently passed away in the morning of November 27, 2023 at the age of 93 after a brief illness. He passed peacefully into the light and love we are all promised.

Stanley was born on May 4, 1930 in the Town of Lake, Wisconsin to parents Jozef and Cecilia (Stanislawa) (nee Wisniewska) Sikorski. His parents were immigrants from Poland, having arrived at Ellis Island on May 29, 1907 and arrived in Milwaukee on May 31, 1907.  The family moved to a farm in the Town of Lake, just south of Milwaukee.  There they raised 12 children - Cecellia, Casimir, Edmund, Sophie, Pelagia, Alice, Jennie, Anna, Raymond, Stanley, Dorothy and Virginia.

Stanley met Audrey Jean Kuri on a blind date in Milwaukee in 1949 while on leave from the army. They were married in 1950 and had two children, Cynthia Jeanne (1951) and James Stanley (1955).  Stanley worked for over 33 years at General Motors Delco Electronics and Audrey was employed by First Wisconsin National Bank for nearly 20 years. They were a great team and amazing providers for our family, working hard and earning a better life. They both retired in 1989 and settled into their lake house in Neshkoro, WI.  They traveled extensively and truly enjoyed retirement. Audrey passed away in 2007 after celebrating 57 years of loving marriage with Stan.

Stan settled into his “second retirement” in Wautoma in 2008 where he enjoyed 15 more years with family and friends.  He was a proud member of the Waushara Country Club where he was an avid golfer. For years, Stan and his favorite golf partner, Jerry Sipple were the top two golfers at the course in the number of rounds golfed per season. Stan recorded a hole-in-one on the course in 1999.  He golfed often, sometimes five or six days a week through age 91.

He also traveled frequently to visit his daughter Cindy and husband Leo at their home in Florida and to Houston to visit his son James.  He also enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Poland.  Stan was very blessed and enjoyed his retirement for 34 years, almost all in very good health.

Stan was preceded in death by his father and mother and all his siblings except his sister Dorothy who lives in Oak Creek, WI.  He is survived by his daughter Cindy Alonge (Port Charlotte, FL) and son Jim (Houston, TX) along with granddaughter Amber and grandson Brian and many nieces, nephews, cousins other family and friends.

Special thanks to the staff at Silver Lake Manor Assisted Living in Wautoma for their outstanding care for Stan since December of ‘22, along with the team at SSM Agnesian Hospice. Their compassion, love and care, especially from Joellen and Bev were a wonderful comfort. Heartfelt love and thanks to Stan’s two best golfing buddies, Ron Richter, and Jerry Sipple and his amazing wife Jo along with dad’s dear neighbors Bev and Mark.  They were Jim and Cindy’s indispensable devoted friends helping take great care of our Dad.

Stan and Audrey’s cremains will be interred in a private ceremony at Arlington Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI. (Reflection Grove, Hope Bldg, South Tier D, Crypt 311).

There will be a celebration of life at Waushara Country Club at noon on May 4, 2024.  Family and friends are welcome.

The family requests that flowers be omitted. If desired, the ordering of a memorial tree or donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
