Sophie Barbara Kolodziejczak, age 93, of Hancock, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 12, 2016 at the Wild Rose Manor.
She was born Oct. 9, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Mary (Micek) Chodur. She married Mitchell Kolodziejczak on Oct. 12, 1940 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1962.
Sophie did assembly work at Chicago Rawhide. She and her late husband operated a tavern in Chicago and she also was caregiver to her stepmother. After moving to this area, she worked for Green Thumb of Plainfield. Prior to becoming a resident of Wild Rose Manor, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Hancock. She belonged to Rogers-Oestreich American Legion Post 343 Auxiliary and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary 30 of Stevens Point.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara (the late Richard) Przybylski, Hancock; one son, Mitchell (AJ) Kolodziejczak, Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Marg (the late Kevin) Windisch, Gloria (David) Olsen, Lisa Kolodziejczak, Michael Kolodziejczak, Christopher Kolodziejczak; great grandchildren, Jeremy, Meredith, Jordan, Caleb, Joshua, Nathanael, Terah, Ariel, Abbigayle, Ryan, Taylor and eight great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Lucy Kloc; two brothers, Stanley and Walter; and by one sister, Frances Sobczyk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David Greskowiak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma.
