Shirley Mae Smith

Shirley Mae Smith, age 83 of Montello passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton. She was born in Racine on April 15, 1939 to Clarence Sr. and Ruby Smith.

Shirley was an employee at S.C. Johnson Wax for 37 years as an assembler. She was very proud of the products she helped make at the company. Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, going to county fairs, an occasional trip to a casino, watching her friend’s children play high school sports but most importantly, Shirley enjoyed caring for her pets in particularly, her cats. It was important to provide a home to her furry babies.

The many friends Shirley leaves behind are: Brian, Kallin, Bill, Harriet, Lacy, Joni, Karen, Kelli, Joyce, Jay and Julie. Shirley developed many friendships while having breakfast at Aunt Judie’s in Princeton and Hilltop Café in Montello.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Clarence Jr and close friends: Lois.

Per Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held and memorials to your favorite animal shelter would be appreciated. Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma assisted with arrangements. www.leiknessfuneralhome.com
