Shirley J. Gold, age 80, of Coloma, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Sylvan Crossing in Stevens Point.
She was born May 5, 1939 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Samuel L. and Helen L. (Lane) Dills. She married Richard Gold on Nov. 19, 1954. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2011.
Shirley and her husband resided in Bartonville, Illinois before moving to rural Coloma in 1966. They farmed for many years in the Town of Colburn and the Town of Richfield, Adams County. Shirley loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and her flower gardens.
Shirley is survived by one son, James (Mary) Gold, Coloma; four grandchildren, Jason Gold (Janet), Coloma, Nicole Gold (Matt), Williston, North Dakota, Samantha (Brad) Hixon, Wausau, and Sheena Trunk (Pat), Hancock; five great grandchildren, Brittany, Tylor, Blake, Faythe and Grace.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Lynn Gold on August 20, 1998; her parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Ray Senter; and by her in laws, Lee and Viola Gold.
Private family services will be held at the Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Colburn/Leola Cemetery, Town of Colburn, Adams County.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Sylvan Crossing and Heartland Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Shirley.
