Sheldon Warwick Muzzy, age 87 of Wautoma, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Thedacare Hospital - Wild Rose. He was born on April 20, 1937 to George and Katherine (Feuerstein) Muzzy. After High School (Wautoma-class of 55) Sheldon joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1963. Sheldon married LaVonna Hannemann on Jan 18, 1958 in North Carolina. After his service Sheldon and LaVonna moved to St. Paul, MN where he and LaVonna started their family; enter daughter Holly and son Kelly.  In the mid 70's, Sheldon and family returned home to Wautoma where both his parents and LaVonna's parents resided until they passed.  Sheldon and family again left Wautoma in 1987, moving to Appleton where he worked at WS Paterson Company until his retirement in the late 90's.  He returned home to Wautoma once again to live out his retired days.

Sheldon enjoyed deer hunting on his parents estate beginning in the 70's until his last harvest in 2022.  He was an avid archer and marksman. Sheldon won the NFAA state championship archery competition in 1978 and 1980 in his division.  His passion for archery and the generosity of his cousin Pat Connolly helped form and found the Waushara County Archers.

Sheldon also enjoyed golf, fishing, restoring classic cars and was an avid artist.  He painted some, but his true talent was wood carving.  Most of his work sold, but a few remnants were still in his possession when he passed.  His most notable, at least competitively speaking, was a male wood duck that he entered in the world competition in Maryland in the mid 80's where he won an honorable mention.  His patience and attention to detail were not only on display in his artwork, but in his character as well.

Sheldon was a great example of a base Wisconsin father, husband and friend.  He shared his talents and interests with his family and friends.  He was helpful within his capacity. He provided for his family and supported them in their interests.  He laughed and cried with all he loved.  He never seeked fame or fortune, but enjoyed the simple treasures of God's provision and lived life contently within his means.

Sheldon is survived by his children: Kelly Muzzy, Holly (Dean) Kaminski; five grandchildren, Brett, Brock and Alyssa Muzzy, Cassie (Sam) Michek and Brandon Kaminski.  He is further survived by his brother Tom Muzzy.  He was preceded in death by his wife LaVonna and his sister Carol.
