Scott Allen Ely, age 49, peacefully passed into the arms of his savior on Thursday, June 14, 2012.
He was born on December 23, 1962 in Wild Rose, the son of Thomas and Barbara (Briese) Ely.
Scott loved to play in the dirt from the time he was a young boy. Scott chose his career as a diesel mechanic and farming in order to continue his love of the outside. He worked many different jobs and positions over the years, ending his career with a job he loved with Hartung Brothers, Inc. of Arena, WI. He was a true farmer until the end. Scott enjoyed life most when sharing time with his boys. His biggest pastime was his love of snowmobiling during his slower winter months and he hoped to pass his love of it down to his boys. Scott spent years involved with the Coloma Pathfinders Snowmobile Club where he helped in many different areas and held the position of president for 15 years.
Scott is survived by his two sons Adam and Allen Ely of Westfield; his parents Thomas and Barbara Ely of Coloma; his sisters and brother, Cindy (Todd) Lewellyn of Alaska, Robert Ely of Coloma and Sara (Jason) Ely of Alaska. He is further survived by his nieces Nicole, Bridgette, Amollia, Sadie and Alyssa; nephews Thomas, Garrison and Marqus; maternal grandmother Elda Briese of Westfield; the mother of his children, Patty Ely; four aunts and four uncles, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Darwin Briese, Sr; paternal grandparents Carl and Della Ely, maternal aunt Joyce and paternal aunts Ruth and Marilyn.
