With deep sadness and grateful hearts for her life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Sally L. Leavitt, of Redgranite, Wisconsin. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Laguna Hills, California, at the age of 80.
Sally was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the cherished daughter of Herbert A. and Myrtle Sorenson. On February 23, 1985, she married the love of her life, Eugene E. Leavitt, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage until his passing on December 12, 2022.
A woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love, Sally was the heart of her family. She gave freely of herself, always ready to help others, always full of kindness. Her home was a haven, her laughter contagious, her sarcasm sharp and endearing. Whether curled up with a good book, caring for her animals, or simply enjoying the company of those she loved, Sally lived her life with joy and a deep faith in Christ. Her legacy is woven into every memory she leaves behind—a legacy of generosity, resilience, compassion, and humor.
Sally is survived by her children: Sherry (Kelly) Beall, Joel (Dana) Leavitt, and Jason Leavitt; her grandchildren: Kendall (Robert) Soja, Grace Osborn, Jordan Leavitt, Madison Leavitt, and Aiden Leavitt; her step grandchildren Kyle Graves and Emily Graves; her great-grandchildren: Jackson, Scarlett, and Suki; She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers: Richard Sorenson, Paul Sorenson, and Mike (Kristi) Sorenson; her brother-in-law Mark (Joanne) Leavitt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her dear friend Jan Arndt.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, her parents, her sister Susan Sorenson, brother Herbert L. Sorenson, daughter Wendy (Jamnik) Osborn, father-in-law Eber Leavitt, mother-in-law Esther Leavitt, sisters-in-law Brigette Sorenson and Anne Sorenson, and brother-in-law Arnold Leavitt.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 25th at Emmaus Lutheran Church, W2185 County Rd H, Poy Sippi, WI from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Foster Road Cemetery in Redgranite.
