Sally Jean Elliott, age 83, of Wautoma, died peacefully Thursday evening, Dec. 8, 2011 at her home on Lake Alpine with her beloved husband, Bill, at her side.
She was born June 23, 1928 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of William and Beatrice (Bartz) Vulgaris. She married William E. Elliott on March 12, 1971 in Muskegon, Michigan. Sally graduated from Muskegon Business College. She was employed as an executive secretary in the Commercial Lines department of Fireman's Fund Insurance Company for 21 years until her retirement in 1991. Sally enjoyed her family, waterfront views, gardening, reading, and playing cards with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, William E. Elliott, Wautoma; one daughter, Debra Bourdon, Southfield, MI; two sons, Richard (Dorothy) Bourdon, Clackamas, OR, Christopher (Vickie) Bourdon, Muskegon, MI; three stepsons, Dale (Lisa) Elliott, Tomahawk, Bruce Elliott, Apopka, FL, Michael (Heather) Elliott, Sanford, FL; twelve grandchildren, Brian, Collin, and Nick Bourdon, Aaron (Amy) and Rick (Jennifer) Dinger, Rustin (Jeremy) Riebe, Rachel and Jackie Elliott, Alyssa Elliott, Josh Officer, Brianna Perry, and Allison Elliott; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Isabella, and Madelyn Dinger. She is further survived by her aunt, Helen Vulgaris, Columbus, OH; cousin, Tina Ross, Columbus, OH, other relatives and many dear friends. Private family services were held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. A Memorial is being established.
