Ruth A. (Johannes) Wenzel, age 74, of Wautoma, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 14, 2016 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
She was born Oct. 16, 1941 in Wild Rose, the daughter of Arden F. and Hannah E. (Owens) Johannes.
Ruth was raised on the former Webb Family Homestead in the Town of Wautoma. She attended Webb School through the 8th grade and graduated Wautoma High School in 1959. Ruth was employed as a Nursing Assistant at the Wautoma Memorial Community Hospital and then at Wautoma Care Center. She also worked at Miles Kimball in Oshkosh, Chicago Pickle Co. and Union State Bank. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma.
She is survived by three children, Ann Dittmann, Wautoma, John (Gina) Wenzel, Wautoma, Donald Wenzel, Elizabeth City, NC; six grandchildren, Robert Bergemann, Ashley Dittmann, Amanda Dittmann, Rebekah Wenzel, Elijah Wenzel, and Isaiah Wenzel; her former husband, Walter Wenzel, Wautoma; one brother, Frederick Johannes, Wautoma. She is further survived by four nephews, Henry Johannes, Rev. David Johannes, Michael Johannes, and Louis Johannes, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David Greskowiak officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27th at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
