Ruth E. (Knueppel) Humphrey, age 89, of Stevens Point, formerly of Hancock passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at North Crest Assisted Living in Stevens Point.
She was born March 22, 1923 in Milwaukee the daughter of August and Amanda Knueppel. She married Rex Humphrey on December 1, 1945 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1985.
Ruth worked in Milwaukee until moving to the Hancock area where she later worked at the M&I Bank in Hancock. She also farmed in the town of Hancock with her husband Rex until his death.
She is survived by her nieces, Corrine (Robert) Anderson, Redgranite and Renona (Gayle) Zwetz, Hancock; further survived by several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, a nephew and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hancock Cemetery. The Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
