Ruth Bohn

December 19, 1927 — March 5, 2013

Ruth M. Bohn, age 85, of Hancock, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 5, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center.

She was born December 19, 1927 in the town of Dakota, Waushara County, the daughter of Richard and Alvina (Blader) Meyer. She married Edwin H. Bohn on November 20, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church, town of Dakota, Waushara County.

Ruth excelled as a student and was a life-long learner. In years past, Ruth was very involved in the activities of her children, attending numerous concerts, designing costumes for school plays and cooking for fundraising dinners. Mrs. Bohn was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was a charter member of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday school for many years. She worked at Flowers by Ken in Plainfield and designed floral arrangements for church. Ruth participated in the PLCO cancer study at Marshfield Clinic for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin H. Bohn, Hancock; two daughters, Susan (Brent) Barta, Rice Lake, Louann (Joseph) Hudziak, Cary, IL.; one son, Timothy E. Bohn, Hancock; one sister, Pearl Haack, Milwaukee; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Alvina Meyer and a sister, Evelyn Erdman.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, town of Deerfield, Waushara County with the Rev. Dale W. Bahls officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the church.
