Rosella “Rose” Beatrice Mulvanny, age 90, of Wautoma, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her home.
She was born July 18, 1930 in Escanaba, MI, the daughter of Clyde and Dorina (Charbonneau) Lancour. She married Thomas Mulvanny on November 24, 1951 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Gladstone, MI. He preceded her in death after 56 wonderful years of marriage on November 16, 2008.
Rose grew up on the family farm in Flat Rock, MI with her sisters, Jeanette, Betty and Agnes (who died in infancy), along with her brothers, Francis, Harry, Leo and Victor. She attended Sobey Grade School in Flat Rock and graduated St. Joseph High School in Escanaba. After graduation, she moved to Milwaukee where she was employed at Allis Chalmers for five years and met her future husband Tom.
Rose and her late husband resided in West Allis from 1953 until retirement in 1979. They also enjoyed living at their second home at Marl Lake, outside of Wautoma. Winters would find them at the Valentine Lodge in Kingsland, TX to get away from the snow. Rose best enjoyed making bread and pies for everyone to enjoy. She raised raspberries that delighted her family and friends. After Tom got ill with cancer they found a cute ranch home on Cree Road and moved there in 2007. Rose continued to enjoy her birds and garden as well as her afternoon relaxation on her deck. Ever devoted to her faith, Rose spent a good portion of her day praying for those in need.
She enjoyed vegetable gardening, playing cards, entertaining, reading, and exercise classes at The Club in Wautoma. Rose was an active faithful member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality (CCW).
She is survived by one daughter, Mary (Gregory) Laska; daughter-in-law, Valinda Tonn; grandchildren, Ian (Crystal) Mulvanny, Cailyn Mulvanny, Daniel Laska; great grandchildren, Edward, Lamonte, Grayson, M.J.; sisters-in-law, Jane Lancour, Jean Lancour, Barbara Lancour. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Edward Mulvanny; her parents; and by her siblings.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Foster Road Cemetery in Redgranite. A Memorial is being established for St. Mark's Catholic Church, 228 Church Ave. Redgranite, WI 54970.
