Rose S. Wendt, age 93, of Wautoma, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at her home.
She was born March 9, 1927 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Pasquale and Angela (D’Amico) Sabatino. She married Clarence E. Wendt Jr. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1997.
Rose was employed as an Executive Assistant in Milwaukee for over 30 years until her retirement. Following her move to Wautoma, Rose became the dear companion of Neil Hart. Together, they became very active in community and fundraising events. She belonged to Waushara County Nutrition Advisory Council and helped launch the donation drive for a new kitchen with a very generous donation. Rose was a very caring and giving person; she was a generous donor to the Red Cross HEREOS, Waushara County EMS, Wautoma Area Fire Department, Waushara County K-9’s, and most recently the Oshkosh Scholarship Foundation where she gave scholarships to several Wautoma High School graduates. Rose was a big supporter of the caregiver and TRIAD programs. She was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church and was very giving, supporting it with her kind generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by one brother, Frank Sabatino (Linda Clemens), Wautoma along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Catherine Sabatino and Stephanie Sabatino; three brothers, Anthony, Tom and Santo Sabatino.
Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma.
