Rita Bertzyk

Rita June (Seaman) Bertzyk, age 79, of Wautoma, went to the Lord on July 5th, 2019.  She was born on August 30th 1939 in Berlin, WI to Carl and Joanne Seaman.  Rita grew up in Berlin, WI.  She married the love of her life Dick Bertzyk on July 21, 1962.  Together they enjoyed their home in Wautoma for 51 years.

Rita loved gardening, fishing and feeding her birds.  Most important to her was taking care of her family.  She always put the family first before herself, with cooking, baking and making sure everyone was comfortable.  She shared the fruits of her labor from the garden with family and friends.  Mom was always there for us to support us in all our band or sport activities.  Rita worked at Sand Knit in Berlin until she became a full time homemaker.  Later, she was a kitchen cook for the Wautoma School District.

Rita is survived by daughters Lisa (Randall) Fritz , Theresa “Tracy” (Steven) Scharenbroch; son Joseph (Tammy) Bertzyk; step-children Jean (Harvey) Knudtsonn, Richard Allen Bertzyk, grandchildren Travis (Brittney) Fritz, Cody (Hannah) Fritz, Corey Bertzyk and Rachel Bertzyk; John (Marie) Knudson and Brian Knudson, Dennis Bertzyk, great grandchildren Finn and (baby brother on the way) Fritz, Keith (son Isaac) and Kassandra Knudtson; Alaina, Bryce and Aiden Knudtson; Elizabeth Bertzyk; Brothers Bernard (Nancy) Seaman and Richard (Louise) Seaman; Sisters Barbara (David) Eagan;  Nancy Seaman and Rose Ann (Ronald) Roggow.  brothers and sisters-in-law Donald (Kathy) Bertzyk and Vernon (Harriet) Bertzyk;  Mary Ann Bertzyk; She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Dick Bertzyk; her parents Carl and Joanne Seaman along with Joanne’s second husband, Alfred Smasal,  brothers Lawrence and  Donald Seaman; inlaws Vincent and Pauline Bertzyk; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert (Angie) Bertzyk, Harold (Patricia) Bertzyk and Lawrence Bertzyk; nephews Lawrence Bertzyk II, David Bertzyk and Ricky Eagan; great grandson Brian

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
