Ricky D. Kalata

Ricky Duane Kalata, age 64, of Spring Lake, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023 at his home.

He was born April 11, 1959 in Wild Rose, the son of Ronald C. and Joyce M. (Bonnell) Kalata. Ricky attended Wautoma Schools. He was employed at the Berlin Foundry for many before taking over the family business, Kalata Excavating of Spring Lake. Ricky loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one son, Joel (Rachel) Kalata, Waupaca; one grandson, Landon Kalata; his brother and sisters: Randy (Debbie) Kalata, Almond, Debbie (Paul) Weiss, Wautoma, Tish (Steve) Kemps, Almond, Karen Kalata (Steve Rothermel) Town of Rose; nieces and nephews: Mark (Dawn) Kalata, Tyler (Leah) Kalata, Jason (fiancée Jenna Rompelman) Weiss, Aimee (Bud) Simenson, Jamie Kemps, Julie (Derek) Suhr, Jen Weiss and Joe Curry; grand nieces and nephews: Tegan, Celia, Zachary, Samuel, Jody, Peyton, Seth, Brody, Liam and Laython; his aunt, Dorothy Bonnell; uncle, Richard (Donna) Kalata; special friends: Joe & Michele, Dennis & Lynn, Bruce, Tom and Vicki. He is preceded in death by his parents.
