Richard Reilly

Richard John "Dick" Reilly of Plover, formerly of Wautoma, passed to life eternal on August 31, 2013 after a courageous bout with cancer with his loving family at his side. He was under the care of Ministry Hospice.
Dick was born August 31, 1932 in Wautoma, Wisconsin, the second of six sons born to James Ivan and Anna Marie (Doerfler) Reilly. He was raised in Wautoma, graduating from Wautoma High School in June 1950. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, being one of the first from Waushara County to volunteer for the Korean War, where he served more than two of his four years outside the continental limits of the United States.
Further education included Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology, United States Armed Forces Institute-University of Maryland, UW-Oshkosh, FBI Weapons and Defensive Tactics and the Wisconsin State Academy.
Following his military service, he was employed by General Motors in Flint, Michigan for a short period until his commission to the State of Wisconsin-Division of Corrections came through. He was employed at the Wisconsin State Prison in Waupun until January 7, 1983 when he retired as a Captain.
On November 23, 1951 he married Jane Gehrke of Redgranite at the First United Methodist Church in Wautoma. They later divorced. Four children Jan Marie (Tom) Corcoran of Waupun, Richard C. (Lori) Reilly of Rice Lake, Kari Sue (Clark) Blader of Wautoma and Todd R. (Laurie) Reilly of Stevens Point were born to this union.
On November 6, 1994, he married Mary Lou Zemple at the First United
Methodist Church in Rice Lake. She survives.
He is further survived by nine grandchildren, Danielle Corcoran, Baltimore, Maryland, Michelle Corcoran, Waupun, Micah (Lynne) Reilly, Bel Aire, Kansas, Jesse Reilly, Milwaukee, Lindsay (Dr. Kurt) Walejko, Ellsworth Air Force Base, Rapid City, South Dakota, Karley (Dr. Christian) Marsh, Oshkosh, Steven Blader, Wautoma, Troy Reilly (special friend, Allison Easter) Stevens Point, Leah (Joshua) Knights, Stevens Point; five great grandchildren, Adelyn Reilly, Paxton Reilly, Nora Walejko, Nolan Walejko, Rowyn Marsh; two brothers, Harvey (Dee) Reilly, Wautoma, Charles (Mary) Reilly, Wautoma; two sisters-in-law, Janice Reilly, Wautoma, Betty Reilly, Laguna, CA.; a brother-in-law, Robert W. Zemple, Surprise, Arizona; his aunt, Crescentia Reilly, Wautoma; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Cora Reilly; maternal grandparents, Paul and Ann Doerfler; his parents, James Ivan and Anna Marie Reilly; three brothers, Thomas William Reilly, James Robert Reilly, and Wayne Allen Reilly; sister-in-law, Janice Zemple; aunts, uncles, cousins.
Richard was a member of the Barron County Cancer Board of Directors. He
was Life Member - over 51 years- of American Legion Post 210, Waupun, WI. He belonged to AARP, was a Life Member of Wisconsin Law Enforcement Association. He belonged to American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Waushara/Wautoma Senior Citizens, Telephone Pioneers of America (partner). Dick was a Perpetual Member and past Worshipful Master of Wautoma Masonic Lodge #148. He was a member and Past High Priest of Wautoma Chapter #107 Royal Arch Masons. He was a member and past President of Tri-State Royal Arch Masons (Michigan, Minnesota & Wisconsin) and was elected Secretary/Treasurer Emeritus in 2010. Richard was a member and past Worthy Patron of Wautoma Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star. He was Thrice Illustrious Master of Oshkosh Council #8 Royal and Select Masters, served as Eminent Commander of Oshkosh Commandery #11 Knights Templar, and was a charter member and served as Governor of North Central York Rite College #112.
He served as Royal Patron of Luella F. Nyus Court #1 of the Order of Aramanth, Charter member and past Sovereign Master of Heart of Wisconsin Council #331 Allied Masonic Degrees. He belonged to Simon of Cyrene Tabernacle #15 of Oshkosh, Chippewa Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, Wisconsin Past Commanders Association, Chapter #27 National Sojourners and Heroes. of Milwaukee. Royal Order of Scotland, Golden Rule Shrine #21 White Shrine of Jerusalem of LaCrosse, Valley of Eau Claire Scottish Rite, ZOR Shrine Ancient Accepted Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Madison. He was a member of Hayward Musky Shrine Club, Indianhead Shrine Club, Heart of Wisconsin Shrine Club, and Mascoutin Shrine Club.
Dick was Charter First Lieutenant, past Captain and President of the Zor
Mavericks Midwest Shrine motor corps. He was a 33rd degree Knight of York Cross of Honor, Knight of York General Cross of Honor with two stars also Wisconsin College Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatus. In 2001, he was Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Wisconsin and in 2002, he was Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council Royal and Select Masters of Wisconsin. He served as Grand Royal Patron of Grand Court Order of the Aramanth of Wisconsin in 2003, and Grand Governor for Wisconsin of York Rite Sovereign College of North America from 2002-2006.
He received the Distinguished Service Award for Grand Lodge of Wisconsin, Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons, York Rite Sovereign College of North America, Order of the Purple Cross York Rite Sovereign College of North America, and Grand Encampment of the United States of America.
Dick served as President of the Wautoma Masonic Union and elected President Emeritus in 2013. He served as District Councilor for Northwest Wisconsin Grand Lodge of Wisconsin. He belonged to the Tall Cedars of Lebonan and received the District 8 Mason of the year award. He was awarded the Grand Cross of Color from the Rainbow Girls. He was Cryptic Mason of the year in 2013 for the General Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters International.
Richard has a strong faith and was active in his church, where he greeted,
ushered and was Liturgist. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great
grandchildren, family and friends. He was an avid outdoors person, loved
hunting, boating, traveling in his motorhome and spending the winter months in New Mexico for several years.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
at Grace United Methodist Church, N2133 Southgate Terrace, Wautoma with Rev. Dominic Israel officiating. Full Military Honors will follow at the Church. Private family interment will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery.
Visitation will held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday followed by Masonic and Commandery services at Grace United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may also great the family on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
