Richard H. Martin was born in Menasha, Wisconsin on May 7, 1934 the fourth son of William E. and Laura (Edwards) Martin. Richard passed away in the morning of September 27, 2011 at Evergreen Manor. Dick was a 4 sport letter winner every year at Wautoma High School graduating in 1953. It was in High School that he met his future wife Myrna I. Anderson but they never dated then. Myrna graduated in 1953 also. Dick went into the Air Force in 1954 and was stationed at several bases including Wyoming, Virginia and Guam. He returned to Wautoma and worked in a grocery store and the city police for a while. While there he reconnected with Myrna in May 1960. After a short courtship they were married on October 15, 1960 at the Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church. They were blessed with 3 children- William, Kyle and Melissa. Dick worked at the Neenah Foundry from 1967 until 1987 and they moved to Oshkosh in 1968 where they have lived ever since. Richard is survived by his wife of nearly 51 years Myrna of Oshkosh; son William (Karen) and daughter Melissa (Robert) Schnyder. Grandchildren Erik, Amanda and Connie Martin, Tyler, Joseph and Jennifer Schnyder, all of Oshkosh. He is further survived by a brother Wayne (Dianna) Martin and sister Cheryl (Doug B.) Pica of Berlin, and a sister-in-law Barbara Martin of Berlin. Also by a special niece Lisa (Bob) Hinrichs and their children Kasey and Katie Lovicott of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. There are three special friends that also survive, Merritt and Gladys Booth of Wautoma and an aunt-in-law Mildred Anderson of Wild Rose. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard is preceded in death by his parents William and Laura; his in-laws, Raymond and Berniece Anderson; brothers and sisters and their spouses: Calvin; Harvey and Carmen; Harold (Curt) and Marlene; Elaine and Dwight Smith; Araline and Clarence Gaylord. Also his son Kyle R. Martin and sister-in-law Donna Banker. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00am in Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church, Township of Mt. Morris with Rev. Timothy Routh, of Calvary Lutheran Church, Oshkosh officiating. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of services at the Church.
