Phlauris Q. Hocking, age 91, of Bancroft, passed away Friday morning, January 29, 2010 at the Wild Rose Manor.
He was born January 5, 1919 in Bone Gap, Illinois the son of Roy and Clara (Woods) Hocking. He married Minnie Hacker on May 24, 1941. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2006.
Mr. Hocking moved from Westmon, Illinois to the Bancroft area in 1956. He was a carpenter most of his life and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Plainfield. He enjoyed spending time with family and going to rummage sales.
He is survived by his five children, Margaret Hocking, Stevens Point, Roy Hocking, Wisconsin Rapids, Richard Hocking, Rosholt, Raymond (Cheryl) Hocking, Amherst, Linda (Dale) McLarnan, Almond; his grandchildren, Brenda (Ken) Piltz, Rachelle Hocking, Kaci (David) Osenga, Richard (Raquel) Hocking, Lori Cates, Maureen (Scott) McRoberts, Amy (Geoff) Kaster, Phillip Hocking, Sam (Tracey) Hocking, Michelle (Travis) Hall, Kevin (fiancee' Jen) Hocking, Brooke (special friend, Benny) McLarnan, Matthew (Shannon) McLarnan, Marlene McLarnan; 11 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Minnie, one brother and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home. A memorial for the United Methodist Church has been established.
