PETER ROBERT SWADER
Peter Robert Swader, age 96, of Neshkoro, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Berlin Memorial Hospital.
He was born to Adam and Constance (Sharapata) Swader on March 28, 1916. He was born at his home in Neshkoro, where he became a life-long resident, until recent years when he was able to enjoy and appreciate the fine care that was provided for him at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.
He graduated from the Neshkoro High School and Westfield County Teachers College and taught school at the Powers School, located a short distance west of Neshkoro. Peter served his country as an Army infantryman during World War II and was a member of the Krause-Gley-Crane American Legion Post 423, Neshkoro for over fifty years.
Peter loved living in Neshkoro and spent many hours fishing on the Mill Pond and working at a local garage. He was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church and was an altar server for many years. He was a warm, generous man and devoted many years, providing loving care to his mother and sisters.
He is survived by one sister, Crescentia Reilly, Wautoma along with many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one sister, Gordena Marmol; three brothers Benedict, Bernard and Aloise; three half-sisters, Clara Kreske, Regina Marmol and Martha Zodrow; one half-brother, Robert Kreske; and by a brother-in-law,
Donald Reilly.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00a.m. in the Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma with Peter's
grandnephew, David D. Reilly officiating. He will be laid to rest in St. James Catholic Cemetery, Neshkoro with full military honors.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 9:00a.m. until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
