Pearl Weiss

May 27, 1914 — February 13, 2012

Pearl Evelyn Weiss, age 97, of Wautoma, passed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ at Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital Monday morning, February 13, 2012. She was born May 27, 1914, in the township of Poy Sippi, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Westerman) Sawallish. She graduated from Omro High School in the class of 1930. She married Leo Weiss of Eureka, Wisconsin on February 12, 1931. They operated a dairy farm near Eureka for many years. Pearl was a most loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother to all her family. She was a faithful and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wautoma, for many years. Survivors include her sons, Norman (Fern) Weiss, Wautoma, Robert (Donna) Weiss, Wautoma; one brother, Russell (Dorothy) Sawallish, Phillips, Wisconsin. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo on Dec. 3, 1984; her parents; one brother, Arden (Evelyn) Sawallish; two sisters, Ardene (Arthur) Beckman, and Esther (Harvey) Berholtz; one daughter, Shirley who died shortly after birth Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Gregory D. Hyatt officiating. A luncheon will follow the service after which burial will take place at Eureka Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church. The family would like to that the staff of Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital for their love and care for Pearl during her recent illness.
