Pearl L. Keenlance, age 87, formerly of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Maple Ridge Memory Care, Plover.
She was born December 23, 1922 in Glenwood, MN, the daughter of Roy & Minnie Gethers. She married Niles W. Keenlance on September 19, 1948 in Hancock, Wisconsin. They were married for 49 years, most of which they spent laughing; taking their family on fishing trips up north; and having family get togethers where there were constant pranks and jokes being pulled. Niles preceded her in death on June 26, 1997.
Pearl loved to bake cookies and any other sweet treats to always have on hand for her family. She also had a love for music and could match a step with any tune. She would stop to talk with anyone, including strangers and always saw the best in everyone. Pearl loved more than anything "her family" and spending time with them. Above all, she was a well liked person and Grandma's house was always filled with laughter, love and baked goods.
Pearl is survived by her children: Cindy (Mike) Rothermel, Vicky (Steve Varga) Pockat and Randy (Lorrie Rivers) Keenlance; grandchildren: Tricia (Fredrick) Melvin, Jeff Rothermel, Tracy (Tom) Hiller, Tanya (Curt) Spurlin and Derek Keenlance; great-grandchildren: Ashley and Jadon Melvin, Paige and Cole Rothermel, Kyle and Trevor Hiller, Dustin, Devyn, Noah and Mason Spurlin. She is further survived by her sister Marion (Delton) Franks and her brother Arnold Gethers; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband Niles, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Hirsch, one sister Violet Gethers and one brother Clarence Gethers.
