Norman “Norm” A. Bubolz passed away on November 10, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born in the Town of Wood, Wisconsin, to Norman C. and Lucille (Horn) Bubolz. He graduated from Rudolph Wisconsin High School in 1951. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force, and served during the Korean War, from 1952-56. He specialized in communications while in the Air Force, and spent time stationed in Germany, as well as traveling to several other countries during his enlistment.
After Norm returned from Germany, and while working as a door-to-door salesman for the Cutco Cutlery Corporation, he met his wife, Elaine Kulinski, and the two were married on November 9, 1957 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Wisconsin Rapids. He decided to undertake coursework in Indiana in order to advance his technical communications skills, and subsequently became employed as Manager of the Western Union Office in Ripon, Wisconsin, from 1958-68. Between 1958-1963, Norm and Elaine were blessed with the arrival of three wonderful children: Valerie (Kirby) Krueger of Ripon, Duane (Judy) Bubolz of Ladysmith, and Diane (Tim) Reinsch, also of Ripon. Following the closing of the Western Union Office, in 1968, Norm obtained employment at Speed Queen, and worked there in various capacities until his retirement in 1995. Norm and Elaine were fortunate to have spent almost 30 years together as retirees in Waushara County. They spent many happy times volunteering at the Wautoma Senior Center and traveling.
In addition to his three children, Norm is survived by grandsons Joshua (Laura) Reinsch and Tyler Reinsch, both of Ripon; granddaughters (step) Alix (Christian) Birkrem, Mt. Horeb, Bailey Sauld (fiancé Jesse Christianson), South Range, and Carly (Adam) Erickson, Green Bay; great grandson, Colter Reinsch, Ripon; sister Anna Mae Binger, Clinton, Tennessee, and brother, Orville Bubolz, Wisconsin Rapids; sisters-in-law Mary (Vic) Krzykowski, Milladore, and Kristin Kulinski, Mukwonago; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Lucille Bubolz, brothers David and Don Bubolz, sisters Lois Peplinski and Luann Bubolz, brothers-in-law Clarence Peplinski, Bill Binger, and Don Kulinski, sisters-in-law Rosie and Linda Bubolz, and his in-laws, Albert and Agnes Kulinski.
Per Norm’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held.
The family wishes to thank Kacey, Will, Stephanie, Pastor Christian, Jessica, and the entire Compassus Hospice Care organization for their professional and compassionate care.
