Neil Douglas "Uncle Bub" Baxter, age 61, of Wild Rose, formerly of Wautoma, died peacefully Saturday, December 10, 2011, at his home with his family at his side after a very long battle with cancer. He was born April 28, 1950 in Berlin, the son of Richard "Dick" and Joyce (Wing) Baxter of Wautoma. Neil graduated from Wautoma High School in 1968. He was working as an apprentice plumber when he met his soul mate, Marjorie Edgren. They were married on May 19, 1973 at Mount Morris Holden Lutheran Church. In 1974, they were blessed with a son, Douglas and in 1977 they were blessed with a daughter, Julie. Neil started employment at FS Co-op of Wautoma in 1976 working in Tire Sales and Repair. In 1991, he was employed at a family owned business, Napralla Tires of Montello, who were truly a blessing during Neil's long battle with cancer. Neil enjoyed bow and gun hunting, camping, cooking, baking, gardening, yard work, fishing, golfing, and other sports. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his very large family. He is survived by his wife, Marge; one son, Doug; one daughter, Julie; his sisters, Pam (Terry) Barth, Mary (Kent) Morrison, Beth (Dale) Tompkins, Carrie (Mike) Crist; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Irene Edgren; one sister-in-law, Georgene Erickson; three brothers-in-law, George (Karen) Edgren III, Tom (Leigh) Edgren, Mark (Faith) Edgren; 10 nephews, eight nieces; four great nephews; four great nieces; many aunts uncles, cousins and very close friends. Neil was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Philip Edgren; nephew, Jeshua Erickson, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Morris Holden Lutheran Church with Rev. Todd Murken officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Aurora Hospital, Oshkosh, and Agnesian Hospice Hope of Green Lake for their care.
