Michael L. "Mickey" Sholar Sr., passed away Monday morning, Jan. 30, 2012, at his home. He was born July 18, 1950 in Orlando, Florida, the son of Roscoe C. and Ethel (Cone) Sholar. He married Margerie E. Schaller on December 4, 1976 in Eau Claire. Mickey was a 1967 graduate of Central High School, Thomasville, Georgia. He served his country with the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division from 1967 until 1972. He proudly served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. Later, he was employed as a Purchasing Agent at Nelson Muffler in Wautoma for 19 years. From 1998 until the present time, Mickey worked as a Grounds- keeper at Waushara Country Club. He was a past member of the Wautoma Volunteer Fire Department, Waushara Country Club, American Legion and Ducks Unlimited. Survivors include his wife, Margerie E. Sholar, Wautoma; two sons, Mike Sholar, Wautoma, and Matt Sholar, Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Sylvia Sholar, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one brother-in-law, John (Susan) Schaller, Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Ann Gordon, Milwaukee. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Morris Holden Lutheran Church with Rev. Todd Murken officiating. Military honors will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
