Mark Allen Semrow, age 64, of Dakota, formerly Jackson, passed away unexpectedly Sunday January 31st, at Wild Rose Hospital. He was born on August 26th, 1951 in Berlin, WI, the son of the late Harland and Donna (Henke) Semrow. He was united in marriage to Joan M. Fitzgerald on April 28th, 1973. Mark graduated from Nathan Hale High School in West Allis in 1969. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He proudly started serving his community for a 30 year period with the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department after moving to the small village to start a family in 1976. He began his working years as a union flooring installer with a keen eye for quality and craftsmanship. In the later years of his working life he brought that same pride and workmanship into the shipping and receiving sectors of two area manufacturers. Mark and Joan retired to the Dakota area in 2013 where he began working on remodeling and building projects to be set for the years to come. He loved spending his new freetime with friends and family, enjoying their company either on the back deck, on the golf course, or at the local horseshoe pit. Throughout his life Mark was an avid hunter and outdoorsman enjoying everything outside from boating and fishing to camping and cookouts, or just tinkering in the garage fixing just about anything. He always had something "going on the grill" rain, shine, sleet or snow. He was always a very supportive father, there to cheer his two sons on in sporting events and life throughout their childhood years and beyond.
Mark is survived by his wife Joan; sons, Chad (Jennifer) and Neal; grandchildren, Claire and Finn; and brothers, Paul (Debbie), David, and John; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
