Marilynn J. Chesbrough, age 85 of Wautoma, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 19, 2024.
She was born May 28, 1939 in Summit, Illinois, the daughter of Edward H. and Lorraine M. (Hermann) Schmidtke. She married Robert C. “Bob” Chesbrough on May 10, 1991 in Wautoma. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2017.
Marilynn was a graduate of Wautoma High School. She worked as dispatcher at the Wisconsin DNR office in Wautoma. Later, she was Secretary/Treasurer of Weiland Trucking Company, Inc. of Wautoma for 25 years. Marilynn was a member of the M&I Bank Board of Directors for many years. She also belonged to the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center board. She was a longtime faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma where she served as Choir Director and taught Sunday School.
Marilynn and her husband Bob enjoyed many special times with family and friends on the Chain-O-Lakes in Waupaca, Silver Lake, Wautoma and in Minocqua. They enjoyed attending many Packer and Badger games. Marilynn was proud of obtaining her private pilot’s license to fly. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
“The good that I have tried to do was not to gain heaven, because I already have that. It was done for my love of Him and what He has done for me. Heaven is my home.”
She is survived by one son, David (Kelly) Weiland; one daughter, Tina Reifsnider; two grandchildren, Brent (Jen) Weiland, Jen (Arron) Lehr; five great grandchildren: Cora, Kashton and Kipton Weiland, Reed and Isla Lehr; one sister, Darlene (Gene) Alexander; brother-in-law, Roger (Sally) Peterson; stepchildren: Diane (Marc) Mattson, Bill (the late Patti) Chesbrough, Scott (Candice) Chesbrough, Mary Jane (Aaron) Holt. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Austin Reifsnider; one sister, Virginia Peterson; one stepson, Christopher Chesbrough.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Nathan R. Laska officiating. Burial will follow at Wautoma Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A Memorial is being established for the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center of Wautoma.
