Our beautiful mother passed away on 24 Aug 2023 at 4am at home surrounded by family. She was 94 yrs. old born 14 Dec 1928 in Texas. She was married to Guadalupe 0’Matta. She moved here to WI in 1969 and made Coloma our home.

Our mother was a member of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma. She was a big voice for the Mexican migrant Community here in Wisconsin.

She received many accolades, one was the Brother James Miller Award, 13 Feb 2000, from The Diocese of La Crosse. She also received the Pope John XXIII Distinguished Service Award April 24, 1992. Along with these she received numerous certificates and letters of appreciation for her work with the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also well known with the Diocese of Green Bay and the Diocese of Madison.

She follows her mother Josephina Ortega and her father Isidro Ortega her husband Guadalupe 0’Matta her brothers and sisters that have passed are sister Nestora Ramonez, brother Jose Ramonez, sister Soila Garcia, sister Nina Gonzalez, brother Ernestino Ortega, brother Jesus Ortega, brother Porfidio Ortega, daughter Maria Lisano her son Baldomero Ibanez and her daughter Marth Gomez.

Surviving family members are, her sister Victoria Rivera, daughter Ramona Gonzales, twin sons Rudy Ramirez, Roy Ramirez, daughter Lucy Hernandez, daughter Maricela Ibanez, daughter Rosalinda Ibanez, Son Ernestino Pineda, twins, daughter and son, Diane Davis and Daniel 0’Matta and daughter Raquel 0’Matta, along with lots and lots of grandchildren.

Saint Joseph Catholic Church Wautoma, WI

Viewing will be from 9am to 10am.

Her funeral will be from 10am to 11am.
