Margaret G. Malek, age 83, of Plainfield, died peacefully early Saturday morning, March 26, 2011 at the Stevens Point Care Center following a courageous 17 year battle with cancer. She was born October 27, 1927 in the Town of Grant, Portage County, the daughter of Andrew and Stella (Meisk) Petrusky. She married Robert E. Malek on September 2, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1994. Margaret spent her early years in this area. Later, she and her husband resided in Milwaukee for many years before returning to Plainfield in 1984.
She loved her pets and enjoyed gardening, reading and watching birds.
Margaret was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield and the
Bancroft American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Robert E. Malek, Plainfield; two brothers, Robert Petrusky, Milwaukee, Raymond (Anita) Petrusky, Bancroft; one sister, Irene Danczyk, Mosinee; two sisters-in-law, Betty Petrusky, Bancroft and Loretta Brach, Plainfield. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Leo, William, Rudolph, Andrew and Ben Petrusky; two sisters, Ann Cychosz and Rose Brach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainfield with Rev. Paul Lippert officiating. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery, Town of Almond, Portage County in the spring. Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A prayer service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Church.
