Lyle DuWayne Fritz, age 81of Wautoma died peacefully in his home on Wednesday May 18, 2011.
He was born on October 16, 1929 on the family farmstead near Wautoma to Oscar and Emma (Schultz) Fritz.
He served two years in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. On November 10, 1956 he married Marie Quick at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. Lyle and Marie took over the family farm, where they raised their five children. Lyle also worked for and retired from Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative of Wautoma for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Marie; four children, Duane (special friend Leath Duffus) Fritz, Wautoma; Alan (special friend Heather Hahn) Fritz, Wautoma; John (Carol) Fritz, Athens; Jean (Dave) Chappa, Montana; daughter-in-law Karla Petersen; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother Harold (Loretta) Fritz, Wautoma and one sister-in-law Helen Fritz, Wautoma. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Arnold and Norman Fritz, one sister Irma (Dorm) Runnels and one son Donald Fritz.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011at 11:00am in Trinity Lutheran Church, Wautoma with Rev. Gregory Hyatt officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors in Wautoma Union Cemetery.
A time of Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma and again on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of services at the Church.
