Lydia Anita Pinterics, age 103 of Wautoma, formerly of Neshkoro passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at Heartland House, Wautoma. Lydia was born on April 15, 1918 in Loretto, MI. She was the youngest in the family and always had her brothers and sisters looking out for her.
Lydia settled in Milwaukee where she met the love of her life, Mike Pinterics and was married on August 19, 1939 and then moved to West Allis to raise their children. Lydia worked as a beautician and was also a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She joined a Scouting Group who became her friends for a lifetime.
When Mike retired, they moved to Neshkoro and bought a 200 acre farm with a pond and beautiful flower garden which was heaven to all that came to visit. She loved family and friends around; everyone was welcome at their farm. Lydia loved when the grandchildren: Michael and Shannon came to visit. Lydia and Mike would walk them around the pond and in the fields…what heaven for children. Life was finally complete when her beautiful great granddaughters: Abby and Lauren arrived.
Family and friends loved playing cards with Lydia, Crazy 8’s was her favorite game and she was usually the winner. Lydia was a member of the Princeton Garden Club, Neshkoro Senior Center and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She met her special friend, Norman Wagner at the Senior Center. Lydia and Norman played thousands of games of King’s Corner and yes, Lydia usually won.
Lydia loved hunting weekend; this was the weekend she made her wonderful bacon and eggs. She cooked all the holiday meals which she loved doing. At 99 years old, she cooked Easter dinner which was her last and decided to move into Heartland House and drove herself there in her Toyota Rav4 which she was so proud of.Lydia touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with because of her loving ways. She will be sadly missed by all who had known her.
Lydia is survived by her children: Mike J (Mary Ann) Pinterics, Judi (Howard) Radank; grandchildren: Michael W. Pinterics, Shannon Pinterics; great granddaughters: Abby Achtenhagen, Lauren (Gavin) Wargin; special friends: Kathy Cereceres, Bart Achtenhagen, Bev Walker, who she always called her sister, Dorie and Phil Hoopman, Tony Ferrito; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Michael L. Pinterics.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland House for the care and compassion given to Lydia during her time there.
Private family services will be held with entombment at Lake View Cemetery, Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Neshkoro Community Center or Neshkoro Library in Lydia's name.
