Luz J. Mata, age 79, died peacefully Easter Sunday morning, April 8, 2012, surrounded by loved ones at St. Michael's Hospital. Stevens Point.
She was born October 11, 1932 in Uvalde, Texas, the daughter of Camilo and Ascension (Rodriguez) Jimenez. She married Encarnacion "John" Mata
in 1947. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1996.
She is survived by eight children, Frank Mata, King, WI, Irma (David) Luera, Ballinger, TX, Diane (the late Russel) Kramer, Plainfield, Sylvia (Neal) Tess, Stevens Point, Ernie Mata, Stevens Point, Robert Mata, Plover, Olga Maldonado, Plainfield, Melva (Sergio) Rodriguez, Bancroft; her daughter-in-law, Val Mata, Plainfield; 42 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Maldonado and Yolanda Ramirez, both
of Greeley, CO. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Encarnacion "Joe" Mata, her parents, and by three brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at
1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. John Swing
officiating. Burial will be in Oasis Cemetery, Township of Oasis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until
the time of services.
The Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield assisted the family with arrangements.
