Lois R. Hahnisch (nee White) age 98, of Wautoma passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at Markesan Resident Home.
She was born April 17, 1925 in Milwaukee the daughter of Emil and Olga (Feuerstein) White. She married Alvin B. Hahnisch on April 14, 1945 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2006. Their three daughters where raised in Milwaukee.
Lois and her late husband resided in Milwaukee for many years where she was employed as a Medical Assistant at the Milwaukee Medical Clinic from 1967 until 1979. She continued her working career at Waushara Family Physicians in Wautoma until her retirement. Lois enjoyed crocheting and knitting her “famous” dish cloths. She loved to bowl and was a league bowler until age 88. She also enjoyed fishing and traveling but most of all her pets.
She is survived by three daughters: Barbara Extence, West Bend, Nancy Hahnisch, Wautoma and Vicki Bernhagen, Markesan; grandchildren: Eric Extence West Bend, Allyson (Steve) Baue, Green Bay and Ryan (Amanda) Bernhagen, Oshkosh; great grandchildren: Eleri, Evan, Audrey, John and Gideon Extence, Sydney Baue, Josephine and Eleanor Bernhagen. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and by two brothers: Gilbert and Kenneth White.
Private family services will be held with Rev. William Evans of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wautoma officiating. Burial will be at Dakota Cemetery South in the Township of Dakota.
