Linda Leigh Fenner's (66) life was filled with hope, faith, and love but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) On Tuesday, September 22, 2015 she flew from her home in Wautoma, WI to the heavens and became our angel after many courageous years of battling cancer.
Linda was born on November 12, 1948 in Richland Center, WI to Richard and Shirley (Ward) Norman. She attended F.J. Turner in Beloit, WI and went on to graduate from Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee, WI.
Her love for children, and people in general, was evident in all her endeavors. From her time as a Sunday School Teacher (we like to believe those kids were blessed with an angel on earth) to other leadership areas of church in Richmond, MO while she and her family lived in Lawson, MO. These experiences led Linda to her 26 year career as a School Secretary. And what a gentle, kind, and caring School Secretary she was.
The last 14 years of her career she worked for Parkside School in Wautoma, WI. In Linda's own words, she worked, "with wonderful and caring staff." We thank you for befriending her and becoming part of her extended family. Hugs to each of you.
During her downtime, you could find Linda traveling to Dunedin and Marco Island, FL where she and her beloved husband of 47 years, owned condos throughout their marriage. Linda loved cheering on her Packers and Badgers at the many parties she and Bud attended. She loved to read, cook, and share dinner with new friends and old. A member of Hope Lutheran Church, Linda was a godly woman with a strong faith in our Heavenly Father.
To know her, is to know she had an undeniable love for her children and grandchild. She was always there to support her son Brett in his Ironman triathlon competitions and her grandson Seth in his many athletic events from Oshkosh Flyer Football games to Dirt Track Racing. She was their very best cheerleader. And always will be.
Dearest friends and family, she wants you to know how important to her you are. When you see a Cardinal or Bluejay, maybe the first Robin of the season flying back to the still cool but warming Wisconsin spring, let this moment remind you of her. She loved her birds.
Or maybe, if you're taking an evening walk with your loved ones, let the goodness of family fill your heart and remind you how fiercely Linda loved her family and loved you.
But the one that is our favorite is when you're sitting alone, gazing out at your extraordinary garden full of Daisies, Roses, Hydrangeas and more, just know you're not alone. Linda is sitting next to you, her heart full of love and her arms wrapped tightly around you.
Although our Wife, Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend is gone from earth, she will always live on in the corners of the world that are beautiful. Because, you see, her spirit, her true self, was one of the most beautiful to ever grace this world. And we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to love her and be loved by her.
To all her friends, we are grateful for your love from coast to coast. It fills us with a warmth and reminds us she is still here in all that is beautiful.
Linda is survived by her husband Eugene "Bud" Fenner, daughter Jennifer (David) Hickman and grandson Seth Hickman, son Brett (Stefanie) Fenner, mother Shirley Norman, father- and mother-in-law Eugene and Lois Fenner, brother Richard (Nancy) Norman, sisters-in-law Lorie (Lowell) Oranger and Nancy Oates. She is predeceased by her father, Richard A. Norman and her angel granddaughter, Hope Marie Fenner.
