Lila M. Schultz, age 92, of Wautoma passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Waupaca.
She was born Oct. 22, 1924 in the town of Mount Morris, the daughter of Oscar and Emma (Pagel) Schleicher. She married Lyle M. Schultz on July 12, 1947 in Mount Morris. He preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2010.
Lila was a graduate of Wild Rose High School. She was employed as secretary at the Waushara County Health Dept. in the nurses office for many years. She was a longtime faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma and the Good Morning Circle. Lila was a 69 year member of Wolman-Minskey American Legion Post 317 Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and baking
She is survived by five children, Barry (Diane) Schultz, Muscoda, Bonnie (Don) Lang, Omro, Brian (Kathy) Schultz, Littleton, CO, Brent (Amy) Schultz, Buffalo Grove, IL, Bart (Brenda) Schultz, Maple Grove, MN; 19 grandchildren, Quinn (Stacy), Kyle (Ellen), Casey (Mallory) Schultz; Jeff (Erin), Tim, Ben (Sarah) Lang; Josh (Jill), Andy (Shannon), Dan, Matt (Kortney), Allison, Jessica Schultz; Naomi, Emma, Abby Schultz, Michael Schultz, Amy (Nate) Johnson, Bryan, Michael Anderson; 16 great grandchildren, Jadyn, Jaxon, Kylie, Lily, Payton, Makenna, Maeley, Rohan, Manning, Berkleigh, Baylor, Kennedi, Owen, Eli, Julia, and Emmett. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and by two brothers, Orin and Gerald Schleicher.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma with Rev. Rafael Cubilette officiating. Burial will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Saturday at the Church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Lila's memory.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Bethany Home of Waupaca, Synergy Home Care of Waupaca and Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
