Lee O. Bendixen, age 78 of Wautoma, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016. He was born in Wautoma on January 2, 1938 to Lawrence and Mildred (Nelson) Bendixen. After high school, Lee went to work for the Wild Rose Bus Garage and then the Wautoma Bus Garage where he retired. Lee was a Lifetime Member of Hope Lutheran Church. He volunteered for many years with the Orphan Grain Train. Lee was always there to help anyone who needed a hand. He was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. Over the years, Lee enjoyed teaching his nephews, though he thought of them as sons, the many ways of the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Lee is survived by his three nephews: Thomas (Lynn) Morey, Lawrence (Cindy) Morey, Daniel (Jeannie) Morey; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Darleen and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 12PM (NOON) at Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Robert E. Hanson with burial to follow in Hope Lutheran Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at church on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM (NOON).
