Lawrence W. Rosin, age 73, of Wautoma, passed away Tuesday evening, April 13, 2010 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born July 12, 1936 in the town of Lanark, Portage County, the son of William and Ann (Lawrence) Rosin. He married Shelby Bushweiler on September 24, 1960 in Wautoma. She preceded him in death on February 18, 2010.
Lawrence loved to spend time with his family, keep score for the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Dogger's softball team. He also loved to play cards, look for deer, go deer and partridge hunting, holidays and going for car rides with his family.
At the age of 16, Lawrence lost his father, he then quit school to help support his mother and nine siblings. Lawrence started out working on his Uncle Johnny's farm, and later worked for Cal Woodard at Midwestern Egg Ranch. He then worked for James Burns and Sons and the Berlin Foundry until his retirement. Lawrence was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. He also loved his brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his children, Cyanne (John) Featherston, Wautoma, Roxanne (Scott) Pompa, Wautoma, Cindy (Eric) Weisensel, Hancock, Lisa (Mark) Brzostowski, Oshkosh, Joey (Dawn) Rosin, Wautoma; grandchildren, Troy Pompa, Joshua Weisensel, Melissa (Kurt Ninneman) Featherston, Ashley (fiance' Charlie Engel) Pompa, Jeremy Featherston, Eric Weisensel Jr., Kayla Featherston, Ally Rosin and Lily Brzostowski; great grandchildren, Alisa Weisensel and Ryan Krentz; sisters, Lorraine Jelinski and Shirley (Lee) Jackson; brothers, Billy (Pauline) Rosin, Gilbert (Barb) Rosin, Carl (Chris) Rosin and Roger (Carol) Rosin; further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, other relatives and special friends.
In addition to his loving wife Shelby of 49 years, he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Suzanne Rosin and a son, Lawrence (Boober) Rosin Jr. and sisters, Ginger, Joyce and Ramona.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Wautoma with the Rev. George Kafer officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, Wild Rose. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Leikness Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.
