LaVerne Keihl

September 21, 1928 — April 19, 2015

LaVerne Keihl, (nee Schroeder), of Wautoma, formerly of Milwaukee, was lifted up on Angels Wings on April 19, 2015. She was born September 21, 1928 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Carl and Martha Schroeder.. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Keihl; her four children, Susan (Larry) Emmrich, West Bend, Mark (Donna) Keihl, Milwaukee, James (Cheryl) Keihl, Milwaukee, David (Laurie) Keihl, Pewaukee; seven grandchildren, and her seven, soon to be nine great grandchildren; her sister, Carol Naueretz. She is further survived by nieces, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. LaVerne was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma. She was a member of the Women's Circle of Peace and enjoyed singing in the choir. She served as a ballot clerk supervisor for the town of Marion and as a volunteer at the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center in Wautoma. LaVerne was a very active person who enjoyed playing golf in her retirement years at Waushara Country Club as a member of the women's, couples, and Great Grannies leagues. She enjoyed puzzle making, crocheting, knitting afghans, and making sequin calendars for family members. She loved tending to her flowers in the summertime. Many happy times were spent with spent with the family swimming in the river, playing games, and feeding the ducks with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma with Rev. Roger G. Riedel officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. If desired, memorials to ALS Wisconsin Chapter or Peace Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff of Heartland House and the nurses and aides of Agnesian Healthcare Hospice.
