Laura Beth Tarr, age 76 of Wautoma passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in Wautoma after a 5 year battle with lung cancer. She was born on September 2, 1944 to Lloyd and Gladys (Hardy) Monroe. She married Robert J. Tarr on July 10, 1965 at Wild Rose Presbyterian Church. Laura worked at Sand Knit in Berlin, Berlin Tannery, Heartland House in Wautoma in the house keeping department and at Wautoma High School in the kitchen so she could see her grandchildren. She enjoyed drawing, playing cards and was an avid bowler for many years. Laura was a huge Elvis and Garfield & Odie fan. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who called her “Grandma Great”.
Laura is survived by her children: Roberta (Dan) Apps, Todd (Marlo) Tarr; grandchildren: Kristine (Brad) Nagreen, Jodi (Britten Keep) Apps, Derek (Kristin) Apps, Ashley (Trey) King, Jaclyn (Ben) Gunderson, Brittany (Matt Martin) Sailer, Morgan (Ken Fink Jr) Sailer; great grandchildren: Noah Nagreen, Peter and Felicity King, Harper, Hadleigh and Hudson Gunderson, Dax Martin; sisters: Caroline Jungenberg, Judi (Fred) Bielmeier, Nancy Williams, Betty (Gerry) Carlson; brothers: Ken (Collene) Monroe, Jim Monroe, Allen (Ann) Monroe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Robert Tarr.
Memorial services will be held at 6PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 3PM until the time of services at 6PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made in Laura’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org) or Cerebral Palsy Foundation (www.yourcpf.org).
