Kenneth "Ken" Lee Bollinger, age 70, of Nekoosa, formerly of Janesville, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, December 12, 2013. He was born on October 21, 1943 in Eau Claire to Roland and Margaret (Miland) Bollinger. Ken graduated from Eau Claire High School with the Class of 1961. On October 6, 1962 he married Katherine C. Cooke in Eau Claire. Ken then was employed by the City of Janesville as a Fire Fighter. He was a fire fighter for 30 years until 1994 when he retired as Lieutenant. He also worked as a Master Plumber and Cable TV installer during his time off from the Fire Department. Ken was a past President of the Firefighters Union and a member of the Moose Club.
Ken is survived by his wife of 51 years: Katherine Bollinger, Nekoosa; children: Kevin (Wendy) Bollinger, Barneveld, Kim (Tom) Ober, Morrisonville, Kent Bollinger, Eleva; grandchildren: Kate, Jacob, Josh, Nicole; great granddaughter: Olivia; brothers: Gary Bollinger, Eleva, Allan (Wilma) Miland, Janesville; sister-in-law: Eleanor (Robert) Bollinger-Johnson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Ronald Bollinger.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 12PM (NOON) at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Bill Fischer. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 until the time of service at 12PM (NOON).
